The drug resistance works in solidarity with other social political movements that share characteristics with the drug user liberation movement and “no more drug war” justice campaigns. The political moment that seniors and people with disabilities find themselves have been running parallel for sometime now. Many of us went rushing into the doors of new ideas of what disability could mean when government programs became more inclusive (substance abuse disorder, major depression, and PTSD) extending the safety net so drug users had a new way live through endless drug wars.
Of course, late capitalist social programs aren’t designed to be revolutionary but reactive. The caps on how much wealthy people can taxed seem fair until you realize that every years large numbers of seniors turn 65 without a dime.
